Military: Jake enlisted in US Army (Company E, 73rd Infantry) as Private First Class on July 23, 1918 and was released on Jan. 17, 1919. He was at Camp Deven in MA.
Occupation: When he enlisted, his occupation was recorded as "chauffeur" which is odd because I thought he worked for Mr. Van Deene at National Library Binding Co for most of his working life, starting in 1913 - perhaps he was Mr. D's chauffeur at time of enlistment.
Citizenship: Jake became a US citizen June 21, 1920
Vitals: His height was 5' 5.75", eyes gray, hair blond
BIRTH: DOB is March 4, 1893 in Mile End New Town, London (in the east end). The address is 1 Cele Street, which may actually be "Bele Street" (or other, as the first letter is difficult to read). Father + Mother signed the certificate with their mark (X). Mother is listed as Yetta Proos and father as Harris Berman, a tailors baster.

When Annie and Jake married, they brough his mother to USA. An interesting fact is that Annie and Jake were cousins (2nd, I believe), and Yetta Price Berman was Annie's great aunt.
